Enjoy Rent Mallorca lists these models on its electric scooter page:

For short trips, you can ride on:

Palma requires riders to be at least 15 and wear helmets

Riders must meet the age, identification and helmet rules

The minimum age is 15 in Palma. Call&Ride applies the same minimum age. Renters must show the identification required by the rental agreement.

Since 1 October 2026, Spanish traffic rules (DGT) require electric scooter riders to wear an approved or certified helmet. In Palma, riders must also wear a reflective vest or another reflective element on the body when riding on the carriageway. Lights must stay on.

Call&Ride supplies a helmet but does not publish its available sizes. Confirm the size at pickup. Ask specifically if you need a child’s or extra-large helmet.

Spanish rules define vehicle design and certification requirements

A personal mobility vehicle is designed for one person and runs on electric power. Its design speed is 6 to 25 km/h. It must have approved lights, reflectors, a bell and braking equipment.

Vehicles placed on the Spanish market from 22 January 2024 must be certified for use. Scooters marketed before that date may keep circulating without certification until 22 January 2027. After that date, only certified vehicles may use public roads.

Palma restricts scooter routes and sets local speed limits

Palma permits personal mobility vehicles on:

  • Cycle lanes
  • Residential streets marked with the S-28 sign
  • Zone 30 roads
  • Cycle streets
  • Roads limited to 30 km/h or less

Riders must follow the authorised direction of traffic.

Riding on pavements, plazas, parks, gardens and other pedestrian areas is prohibited. National rules also ban VMPs on motorways, interurban roads and in tunnels, and on any road where their use is not authorised.

A helmeted person rides an electric scooter toward a bicycle crossing as another cyclist crosses the street in a residential neighborhood.
Riders should slow to walking pace at cycle crossings, even where the street has a higher speed limit.

The speed limit is 20 km/h on residential S-28 streets and 30 km/h on Zone 30 roads and cycle streets. Reduce speed to walking pace at cycle crossings.

Before you ride

  • Confirm you are at least 15 years old
  • Bring the identification required by the rental agreement
  • Check that the helmet fits at pickup
  • Put on your reflective vest or element before using the carriageway
  • Check that the lights work

Call&Ride requires photo identification and a bank card

Bring photo ID and inspect the scooter before signing

Call&Ride accepts a passport, driving licence or similar photo ID. You also need a credit or debit card. The card is used to complete the rental agreement. It may be charged for eligible damage, late returns or other contractual costs.

You need photo ID to rent Call&Ride’s electric kick scooter, but you do not need a driving licence. A licence is required for its separate motor scooter and motorcycle categories.
