Why we recommend Helios Mallorca
Helios Mallorca is located in Can Pastilla, on the eastern side of the Bay of Palma. The hotel is only around 100 metres from the beach, so you can easily walk from your room to the seafront in just a couple of minutes.
Can Pastilla is particularly convenient if you want a beach holiday without staying too far away from Palma. You have the long seafront promenade, restaurants, cafés and the beach nearby, while Palma itself remains easily accessible.
The hotel is also close to Palma Aquarium, and there are public transport connections towards both Palma city centre and Palma Airport.
Staying here? Two of the area’s best experiences are right on your doorstep: book your Palma Aquarium skip-the-line ticket (or go further with diving with sharks), and swim in underground lakes at the Cueva Acuática, also in Can Pastilla.
That makes it a practical base for travellers who want to combine beach days, Palma sightseeing and exploring the rest of Mallorca.

One of the reasons we like this area is that you don’t necessarily need to choose between staying by the sea and having access to Palma.
You can spend the morning on the beach, head into Palma later in the day for sightseeing, shopping or dinner, and return to Can Pastilla in the evening.

The hotel has a 3,000 m² garden with an outdoor swimming pool, providing an alternative when you don’t feel like spending the entire day at the beach.
There is also a heated indoor pool, which makes Helios Mallorca particularly interesting outside the main summer season.
This is worth considering if you are visiting Mallorca in spring, autumn or winter rather than July or August.
Spa and wellness
If relaxation is an important part of your holiday, the hotel also has a wellness offering including spa facilities, massages and guided yoga activities.
It gives you the option of having a slower day at the hotel between excursions or days exploring Mallorca.
A particularly good choice for cyclists
Mallorca is one of Europe’s best-known cycling destinations, and Helios Mallorca is well equipped for guests travelling with bikes.
The hotel has a dedicated cycling area with bike storage, a workshop and facilities designed for cyclists, as well as recommended routes.
If cycling is part of your Mallorca trip, this is a significant advantage compared with choosing a hotel that isn’t specifically prepared for bikes.
Food and breakfast
The hotel has its own buffet restaurant serving Mediterranean, Spanish and local cuisine, with breakfast and dinner available.
There is also a bar with an outdoor terrace, which fits nicely with the relaxed holiday atmosphere of the hotel.
Of course, being in Can Pastilla also means you have plenty of other restaurants and cafés within the surrounding area if you prefer going out.
Who is Helios Mallorca best for?
We think Helios Mallorca works particularly well for couples, families, cyclists and travellers who want to stay close to Palma without staying directly in the city centre.
It is also a good option if you are arriving for a relatively short Mallorca break because you can get settled quickly and start enjoying the island without a long journey across Mallorca immediately after landing.

Our opinion
There are hundreds of hotels to choose from in Mallorca, so we don’t recommend somewhere simply because it has a good location on a booking website.
Helios Mallorca is one of the places we recommend because it is somewhere our families know and have enjoyed over the years.
For us, its strongest point is the balance it offers: you are close to the beach, close to Palma and the airport, but you still have the facilities to spend a relaxing day at the hotel if you don’t feel like going anywhere.
If you are looking for a comfortable base in the Palma area rather than a large isolated resort, Helios Mallorca Hotel & Apartments is definitely worth considering.
